The Hillside Rod & Gun Club Cooperative Trout Nursery, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Fish Commission raise trout and stock surrounding streams.
In addition to stocking Hillside also has an Annual Kids Fishing Derby typically the Saturday after Mother’s Day. Derby is held at Liberty VFW Pond which we stock the previous day. Derby is open to the public, you do not have to be a member of the Hillside to participate. We encourage members of the community to bring their kids out to the stocking the day before to learn about the fish and all that we do at the nursery. At the derby lunch and drinks are provided. There are also a lot of great prizes for the kids to win, each kid will leave with something!
